Prachanda directs Maoist youth to avoid intimidation
Kathmandu, May 6 : Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) Chairman Prachanda has directed Young Communist League (YCL) cadres to avoid intimidation and attacks against rival political parties in Nepal.
Addressing a YCL meeting in Balaju, Prachanda cautioned YCL cadres that their activities could tarnish the image of the entire party.
According to Kantipur, Prachanda's directive comes at a time when the two major parties--Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML are demanding that YCL cadres effectively stop their unruly activities before the former can support a Maoist-led government.
During his meeting with CPN-UML leaders later, Prachanda had sought their cooperation in the new government; assuring them that YCL cadres would improve their conduct.
Meanwhile, the ongoing YCL meeting has decided to mobilize all YCL in development activities in a month-long campaign to be launched after the formation of the new government in Nepal. (ANI)
