Prachanda asks for three months to fulfil Nepali Congress demands

Pushpa Kamal DahalKathmandu, Jan 2 : Nepal Prime Minister Prachanda has expressed his willingness to fulfill the nine-point demands of the Nepali Congress (NC) in three months.

He expressed the fresh willingness at the meeting of the six ruling parties on Thursday.

A meeting of the High-Level Political Coordination Committee (HLPCC) held at the PM''s official residence had suggested Prachanda to address the Nepali Congress demands including the return of the seized property to the rightful owners.

The Nepali Congress has been boycotting the House even after the government committed to fulfil its demands saying that Prachanda must give a deadline by which the implementation will be completed.

Meanwhile, the meeting reached an agreement to recommend the names of the representatives of different parties who will participate in different constitutional commissions within two days to the Prime Minister.

It also decided to give full shape to the high-level Scientific Land Reforms Commission.

According to Nepalnews, UML leader Surendra Pandey said, "We asked him that he should give time-bound commitment as demanded by Nepali Congress and he agreed to give three months."

Pandey added that Prachanda also asked the ruling partners to provide their nominees by Friday for the six commissions and to fill vacant positions in some constitutional bodies. (ANI)
