There is more in the Commonwealth Games (CWG) than just the roadblocks and security concerns. The work that involved a total amount of Rs 70,000 crore saw a gigantic level of infrastructure building and also proper commissioning of the large sporting event.

As the blame game keeps piling and the serious black spot on the image of the country, there is also a feeling of collective loss in the people about the event. While the, infrastructure bottlenecks have been, visible at every level.

But the question is why the whole trouble happened? The first and the foremost thing is that the government wanted to do the whole thing on its own.

While comparison of the Chinese system, which has been claiming to be able to do the whole event in one month, has almost the same level of corruption, it is true that it is more capable when keeps to organizing even Olympics.

The answer is in accountability. In China, even the smallest level of official is accountable to the government, in India the same is missing.

Also what is needed now is that the government works hand in hand with the private companies.
