Poojashree clinches title of ITF Women Open

Poojashree clinches title of ITF Women OpenIndia’s Poojashree Venkatesha has won the single’s title in the US $10,000 Questnet ITF Women's Open at the Kingfisher Signature Stadium of Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association on Saturday. Poojashree ousted Slovakia’s Dalila Jakupovic in the title summit to win the title.

The top seeded Poojashree defeated the eighth seeded Slovinian Della Jakupovic 6-3, 6-3 in just 76 minutes. This was third time that she has won ITF title as earlier she had won Islamabad Open title in November last year and the Delhi Open earlier this year.
456 ranked Poojashree’s serve was broken in the very first game while she broke her opponent in the fourth game to enhance her lead to 3-1.

Poojashree committed only two double faults as compared to four by her opponent in the first set and won the set to take lead in the match 1-0.

The Mysore girl continued her dominance in the second set also and she raced away with match and title. Poojashree had also won the doubles title yesterday with her partner Isha Lakhani.
