Amar Singh-Narayan Rane meeting fuels speculation

Amar Singh, Samajwadi PartyMumbai, Oct 1 : Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Amar Singh today met Maharashtra Revenue Minister Narayan Rane, causing rumours in the state political circles.

Singh’s meeting comes in the backdrop of the Congress high command giving a cold shoulder to Rane''s plea for removal of Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.

The former Shiv Sainik has been eyeing Deshmukh''s chair ever since he joined the Congress party in 2005, but his repeated attempts to dislodge the veteran Congress leader have failed.

New Delhi, Sep 1: The Congress and the Samajwadi Party are to hold seat sharing talks for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in Uttar Pradesh today.

BJP-SADNew Delhi, July 24 : Both the Janata Dal (United) and the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) today expelled two of their MP’s for violating the party whip in the vote of confidence on July 22.

The UPA Government won the trust vote by 275 to 256.

In the July 22 trust vote won by the UPA Government by a margin of 19 votes, as many as 21 MPs belonging to different political parties, including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress cross-voted. Ten members remained absent or abstained from voting.
