Police officer helps woman in 10k race

On Sunday, an officer helped a woman pass the finish line in a 10k race as she was trying hard to achieve the milestone. The photo, which was captured at the moment, is receiving a lot of appreciation because of the kind act of the officer. The photo shows the woman crossing the line with the police officer and her son.

“When you see the photo, just know that you're worth it. And you can do anything that you put your mind to. I just knew that all of those times that we went to the doctor's office and the doctor told us what could have happened”, said Ford.

She also told that she took a decision to take proper care of her health for her children and since then she lost 217 pounds. She said that Lt. Aubrey Gregory of Louisville Metro Police asked her about finishing the race. And then she immediately said yes.

Gregory told that he didn’t leave her hand and both decided to finish the race. Ford struggled a lot to reach healthy weight.

According to an interview with NBC Atlanta, Ford told that once she was even had a weight of 474 pounds. She was aware of the fact that situations could get worse, and when her husband lost his limb because of diabetes, she decided to see a doctor as she was concerned about her children.

Gregory said that it’s all about struggling with hardships and it’s not all about the negative things, which are observed daily in news media and social media. Gregory also said that he was incident commander for the race. He said that he was at the back of the race, together with a cleanup crew, and an ambulance was also there.
