Pierre Cardin launches first designer tablet in the UK
Fashion house Pierre Cardin has entered the UK tablet market with the country’s first designer tablet computer.
The Pierre Cardin PC-7006 Tablet runs on Google’s Android 2.2 and is powered by a Samsung S5PV210 Cortex A8 1GHz processor. It comes with 512MB Ram and 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded through a micro SDHC support. The device offers WiFi connectivity as well as support for 3G; however the focus is on design.
The 7 inch screen of the tablet has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The tablet looks sleek and modern and attracts the onlookers. The tablet is unlikely to become a serious competitor to the Apple iPad but is an example of fashion coming together with technology to create a device if use. Users will have access to the Android Market and other Google Apps
