Vidya Balan, Emraan Hashmi in Dubai for 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani' shoot

Vidya Balan Emraan HashmiDubai, Nov 17 : Bollywood stars Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi are in Dubal for filming their upcoming film 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani.'

According to Gulf News, director Mohit Suri said that the film is set in the UAE, and hence major part of the project has to be shot in the most glamorous and populous city of the country.

Suri, who was shooting final UAE leg of production at Miracle Garden, added that though the city was generally treated for its high-tech buildings and modern landscapes, he wanted to romanticize it and show its softer side.

I did 'jasoosi' in my school and college days, says Vidya Balan

Vidya-BalanNew Delhi, July 3 : Vidya Balan has revealed that she did 'jasoosi' in her school and college days.

While promoting her upcoming movie 'Bobby Jasoos' in Gurgaon, she said, "I did lot of 'jasoosi' in my school and college days. If my friend used to like someone or I had a crush on someone, so we used to help each other in taking out the information of that person".

I don't miss working with Khans: Vidya Balan

Vidya BalanMumbai: National-award winning actress Vidya Balan says she has not been offered any film with the Khans in Bollywood yet.

Vidya, who will be seen sharing the screen space with newbie actor Ali Fazal in detective thriller `Bobby Jasoos`, said she is not keen on doing it either as she doesn`t see herself fitting into `masala commercials`.

"I don`t miss working with them. There has to be a script that has enough for me to do.. It has to be exciting for me. I have never looked for films where I can work with certain actors.

Vidya-BalanMumbai, May 27 : Actress Vidya Balan, who will be seen as a detective in "Bobby Jasoos", says she never had to be like a sleuth for her husband Siddharth Roy Kapur.

When asked if she has ever been a detective for her husband, she said: "He is too boring. I don't have to turn detective for him ever."

Vidya, who is also rumoured to be pregnant, dodged the question and instead talked about response to her forthcoming film.

"You all should give me good news on July 4. The film should get a good opening and everybody should appreciate the film and that will be the good news," she said.

Vidya to launch 'Bobby Jasoos' trailer with real detectives

Vidya-BalanMumbai, May 23 : If grapevine is to be believed, actress Vidya Balan, who plays a detective in "Bobby Jasoos", will launch the theatrical trailer of her upcoming film along with 10 real life detectives.

"Bobby Jasoos" revolves around the journey of a Hyderabad-based female detective.

When the idea for the trailer launch popped up, the makers were keen to celebrate the launch with some real detectives.

The trailer is likely to be launched this month, said a spokesperson.

"Bobby Jasoos" has been produced under Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha's banner Born Free Entertainment.

Vidya, Dia appalled at Mulayam's comment

Vidya-DiaMumbai, April 11 : Actors Vidya Balan and Dia Mirza have reacted strongly to Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav's remark that the death penalty in rape cases is "unfair" as "young boys make such mistakes".

National Award-winning actress Vidya has said that rape should never be pardoned.

"Capital punishment is a very contentious issue but it is the worst of crimes that should not be pardoned. I completely disagree with anyone who says that 'boys will be boys, they will make mistakes'," Vidya said here Thursday at a fundraiser event by NGO Swades.

Australian designer creates sari for Vidya Balan

Vidya-BalanMumbai, April 7 : Actress Vidya Balan has become Bollywood's quintessential ambassador of the sari, and when an Australian designer was asked to create an ensemble for her, she couldn't think beyond the six-yard wonder either.

As part of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2014, festival ambassador Vidya did a photoshoot with celebrated Australian designer Susan Dimasi.

Dimasi presented Vidya in a special sari, the fabric of which was specially designed by her. The sari was the result of handweaving a textile with silk ribbon through a rubber net.

Vidya Balan on multi-city US tour for IIFA

Vidya-BalanNew York, March 12 : Bollywood's "Ooh la la" girl Vidya Balan is on a multi-city promotional tour of the US to spread buzz about the forthcoming International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) celebrations, which will make its American debut this year.

IIFA Weekend and Awards, an annual Bollywood gala, is scheduled to be held in Tampa Bay, Florida, April 23-26.

Vidya has joined its promoters on the second IIFA US tour to visit New York, Houston, Tampa and Orlando. The journey began Tuesday, and will end Friday.

Aishwarya, Vidya most searched on Google

Aishwarya-VidyaNew Delhi, March 7 : Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai has topped the list of 20 most searched successful Indian women on Google followed by Vidya Balan and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, an official statement said.

Former Indian Police Service officer Kiran Bedi also features among the top ten, revealed a Google search trend result Friday.

The list was revealed after a two-month analysis between Jan-Feb 2014.

"On the occasion of Women's Day, Google search trends reveal who are the most searched 20 successful Indian women. Kiran Bedi is still among the top 10 most searched Indian women," a statement said.

Oscar not too far away: Vidya Balan

Vidya-BalanMumbai, March 5 : National Award and Padma Shri awardee Vidya Balan, who has proved her versatility in film after film, is happy with the kind of films and roles she has been getting and says as long as she will get good films, an Oscar is not too far from her.

The actress was present at a press meet for Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2014 here, and when asked about winning an Oscar in the future, she said: "I have never thought of winning an Oscar. I had not even thought of winning Padma Shri some day."

"And as long as I am assured of good films, then an Oscar is also not too far away," she added.

Vidya first featured on the show to promote her film "The Dirty Picture" and gave some tips to Priya, the female protagonist of the show, that would help her woo a man.

The 36-year-old is now coming on the show to promote her forthcoming movie "Shaadi Ke Side Effects", which releases Feb 28. She will shoot for her sequence in the show Thursday, said a source.
