New Delhi, March 29 : Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Friday urged activist Arvind Kejriwal to end his six-day old hunger strike here against alleged inflated power and water bills.
"Reforms are a long political journey, and at this stage his health is of paramount importance," Ravi Shankar said in a statement.
Kejriwal, who heads the Aam Aadmi Party, started his fast in a slum area in Sundar Nagri over the weekend, asking people not to pay power and water bills.(IANS)
Media reports have confirmed that Team Anna will call off the fast at Jantar Mantar tomorrow. There were reports that Team Anna will soon announce a political party. Arvind Kejriwal has asked supporters of Team Anna and Indian Against Corruption to cast their votes by SMS, Facebook and Email to decide the future direction of the protest against corruption.
Supporters of Team Anna have also held a protest outside BJP office in New Delhi. The supporters are protesting against the political will of major political parties to go ahead with the Jan Lokpal Bill.
New Delhi, Aug 27 : Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Saturday urged Anna Hazare to positively end his hunger strike by 6 in the evening.
"Sri Sri insists that Anna breaks his fast at any cost before 6 p. m. today, whether there is a (parliament) resolution (on Lokpal bill) or not," he said in a statement here.
"Let the agitation continue, but not the fast," he added.(IANS)
New Delhi, Aug 24 : Spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on Tuesday said social activist Anna Hazare''s health is fine and there was no need to worry.
Talking to reporters here, Ravishankar said: “Anna Hazare’s health is fine. He is better than tomorrow. The talks are going on in the right direction and there is a cordial atmosphere.”
According to a health bulletin issued by the doctors treating Hazare, his blood pressure has shot up to 140/80 and pulse has increased to 82 per minute.
There were people who wanted to attack him but he was not afraid and would continue to spread the message of anti-terrorism and peace, Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who was fired at but escaped unhurt, said on Monday.
It has been reported that an unidentified gunman opened fire at Ravi Shankar's convoy here late Sunday. The spiritual leader said that an Indian devotee suffered a minor injury but is fine.
Chennai, Apr 23 : Art of Living Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who visited Sri Lanka on a humanitarian mission, said that there is immense trauma among the Tamil people living in refugee camps.
"We did whatever little bit in the relief work possible and there is lot of fear and anxiety among the people. They feel sort of let down by all those whom they believed in. They feel let down by their own people, they feel let down by India," said Shankar, who was in Sri Lanka since Monday.
Jaipur, June 10 : In a bid to break the17-day long deadlock between the Rajasthan Government and the agitating Gujjars, spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar arrived here on Tuesday.
He was called upon by the State Government to mediate between the two sides.
The spiritual guru is staying at the residence of Rajya Sabha MP Ram Das Agarwal in Jaipur.
