London, April 22 : Russell Crowe and Dame Helen Mirren shared a kiss at the premiere of their recent movie `State of Play' in London.

The movie tells the story of a journalist''s probe into the suspicious death of a Congressman''s mistress.

While Crowe plays the journalist, Dame Helen stars as his bitter editor in the film adaptation of the critically acclaimed BBC television series of the same name.

Crowe, 45, and Universal purchased the rights to the best-selling novel `My Brothers Keeper' by Sydney newspaper investigative reporters Charles Miranda and Angela Kamper last year.

The movie, based on the true life and crimes of an Australian underworld figure and his clash with a notorious Sydney surfing tribe, may be the actor's first attempt at directing.
