London, February 16: Controversial comic Russell Brand has called off three shows owing to a throat infection.

The 33-year-old has rescheduled his performances at the Hammersmith Apollo and the Clyde Auditorium in Glasgow, Scotland, following doctors' advise.

"I will make it up to everyone at the rescheduled gigs... I''m in bed, very confused, at the specialist''s insistence," the Daily Express quoted him as saying in a statement.

"I''m alone - except for the cat, who I''m thinking of putting a bikini on - it must be the fever!" he added.

London, Feb 13 : Comedian Russell Brand has revealed that he offered her his dirty underwear to legendary actress Dame Helen Mirren on the set of their new movie.

The actors appear in a upcoming film adaptation of William Shakespeare''s `The Tempest', with Mirren taking on the role of Prospero and Brand playing jester Trinculo.

Brand said that when he found himself with an extra pair of briefs during an impromptu outfit change on-set, he quickly offered Mirren his spare underwear.

London, January 26: Funnyman Russell Brand, who sleeps with three woman a day on average, has revealed that he is fed up of the "meaningless" one-night stands, and wants to find another hobby.

"If I'm to find any true happiness I have to devote myself to something bigger than my own ego," British tabloid The Sun quoted him as telling US GQ.

"I'm really getting tired of materialism. I don't reckon I've got more than two or three years.

"I've burned out drugs. I'm burning out sex. I don't even know what I'm doing yet. I'm not ready.

The one-time heroin junky, who's used to appearing in headlines for all the wrong reasons, has boasted that he now hits the sack with up to three girls a day.

When asked how many girls he sleeps with a month, Brand bragged about his extraordinary sexual appetite.

Washington, Jan 12: British comedian Russell Brand has offered his support to the charity that helped him overcome his drug problems.

Brand, a former heroin addict, credits charity Focus 12 for helping to beat his drug issues.

However, the charity faces closure after the British government stopped funding it.

And now Brand has extended his support by joining a campaign to keep the charity open.

Washington, Dec 20 : British comedian Russell Brand has once again picked on American boy band Jonas Brothers by saying that he wants to kiss them on New Year''s eve.

Brand, who recently joked about the band's purity rings at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, was asked whom would he like to kiss on the eve of New Year.

"I think all of the Jonas Brothers," Us magazine quoted him as saying at the Los Angeles premiere of Bedtime Stories.

"But very gently and consensually," he added.
