Princess Anne's visit to Gibraltar irritates Spain Gibraltar/Madrid  - Britain's Princess Anne on Thursday inaugurated a military hospital in the British overseas territory of Gibraltar in an act that irritated Spain, Spanish media reported.

The hospital was located in a border area the sovereignty over which was unclear, Jose Carracao of Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero's Socialist Party was quoted as saying.

Already in January, Spain protested to the British embassy in Madrid about the royal visit, describing it as "inopportune."

Brit town puts pigeons on the pill to cut their population!

London, Aug 23 : Stamford town councillor has suggested that pigeons should be put on contraceptive pills to cut down their population.

The town council has been getting lots of complaints about the mess pigeons have been creating.

Also Princess Anne and her daughter, Zara visit to Stamford for the Burleigh Horse trials next month have sparked huge concerns among the council bosses.

"The pigeon problem in Stamford has got worse and worse over the last five or six years," Telegraph quoted Clem Walden, an independent on Stamford Town Council, as saying.

"We have been getting lots of complaints about the mess they are making and it has now got to the extent where it is uncontrollable," he added.

Princess Anne in helicopter fire scare

London, Oct 9 : British royal Princess Anne had a bit of a scare when the helicopter she was travelling in was at the centre of a fire alert just moments before it was due to take off.

The Princess Royal was on board the helicopter when it developed an electrical fault.

Princess Anne was about to leave Denbigh High School in North Wales where she was using the grounds to board the aircraft.

A spokesman for the North Wales Fire and Rescue said that a fire had broken out, and that it had been brought under control by the department.
