Washington, Apr 15 : Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus has been honoured by the youth division of animal rights group PETA for her kindness towards chickens.

Cyrus, 16, has adopted one of the birds that featured in her new film ‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’, and even ensured that the rest of her poultry co-stars find good homes.

Her actions have earned her a Compassionate Citizen Award from PETA.

The 16-year-old linked the movie, based on Lewis Carroll's books, with stimulant Ecstasy, saying she found the association on the Internet.

"It''s such a perverted movie. It''s all about Ecstasy. I swear! Look it up online," the New York Post quoted her as telling Teen Vogue.

According to studio estimates, Vin Diesel''s racecar flick ‘Fast & Furious’ fell to No. 2 with 28.8 million dollars in sales.

‘Monsters vs. Aliens’ raked in 22.6 million dollars to land at No. 3, reports E! Online.

‘Observe and Report’ came fourth with 11.1 million dollars while ‘Knowing’ rounded off the top five with 6.7 million dollars.

Washington, Apr 11: Teen sensation Miley Cyrus' much awaited `Hanna Montana' movie has been panned by critics.

Disney channel's hit series' big screen adaptation was released across US on April 10.

"Even as adults give their blessing for prepubescent moviegoers to see the film, they should be plotting to stay as far away from the theatre as possible," Usmagazine quoted San Francisco Chronicle, who gave the film two stars, as saying.

Melbourne, Apr 10 : She might have dethroned Britney Spears to be the new teen idol, but Miley Cyrus says she’s uncomfortable with the tag.

The Hanna Montana star says she’s happy to be looked upon as a role model rather than an idol.

"If you look at me as a role model I agree with it, but if you look at me as an idol, I don''t," the Daily Telegraph quoted Cyrus as saying.

"An idol for me is someone you want to replicate, you want to be them and I don''t wish that on anyone, to lose what they have personally," she added.

Cyrus, who is currently dating Justin Gatson, has revealed that she goes through their text messages and sees whether they are good to their mum, for she believes that if they are nice to their mothers, they would be nice to her too.
