Jennifer Hudson’s brother-in-law innocent of murders, claims his lawyerWashington, December 3 : William Balfour, the prime suspect in the family murders of actress Jennifer Hudson, is innocent, claims his lawyer.

Hudson’s estranged brother-in-law had been arrested on charges of first-degree killings of the Oscar-winner’s mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew.

“The delay between the crimes and his actual arrest show weaknesses in the case. This case is not a strong case against William. He is a convenient suspect,” People magazine quoted attorney Joshua Kutnick as saying.

Washington, December 2 : William Balfour, the prime suspect in the family murders of actress Jennifer Hudson, has been sent behind the bars on charges of first-degree killings of the Oscar-winner’s mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew.

The 27-year-old, who had remained in custody on a parole violation, was shifted to Chicago police custody after the cops had served a warrant for his arrest, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Balfour was is said to have had regular screaming rows with Hudson''s sister, Julia, over matters involving money and infidelities, as per the family members and neighbours.

The constant busts up had led to Balfour being thrown out of the house in recent months and he had reportedly threatened his wife and her family.

Washington, Nov 15 : Mourning Jennifer Hudson has thanked her fans for their support following the tragic deaths of her mother, brother and seven-year-old nephew.

Oscar-winner used her MySpace blog to post a message of thanks to all those who have expressed their sympathy since the horrific killings.

"I want to thank each and every one of you for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time... My sister and I take great comfort and strength from your love and concern," Contactmusic quoted her, as writing on the blog.

Hudson''s mother, Darnell Donerson, and brother, Jason, were shot dead at their home in Chicago, Illinois on 24 October (08).

The police had arrested William Balfour, the estranged husband of the Oscar winner''s sister Julia, in October suspecting his involvement in the murders of Hudson''s mother, brother and seven-year-old nephew.

Jennifer-HudsonAccording to Chicago Tribune sources, William Balfour, the only individual identified as a 'person of interest' in the double slaying of Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother, allegedly confessed his involvement to a current girlfriend.

However, Balfour's girlfriend told police, he played no role in the death of Hudson's nephew, seven year old Julian King, son of Jennifer's sister Julia and Balfour's estranged wife. King, who also went missing the same time as the shootings took place, was later discovered shot dead in an SUV found on the South Side of Chicago.
