But now she says that she’s glad that she didn’t meet her "Celebrity Big Brother" housemate who’s said to be hours away from death - in London as it would have depressed her no end.
Shilpa said on her blog shilpashettylive. com: "Am happy in a way, I haven't got to see her (Jade), it would've depressed me no end. I always want to remember her smiling, the feisty, strong, gregarious Jade, a true Trooper.
London, Mar 20 : Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has said that she's glad she didn't get to see her dying friend Jade Goody - because she wants to remember her as the bubbly girl she met two years ago.
Shetty had planned to see the former Big Brother star on her trip to London but couldn't meet her when Goody's health deteriorated.
However, the 33-year-old winner of Big Brother said that she cherished the last phone conversation she had with Goody.

According to reports, the 27-year-old wants to be laid to rest with the happy family snap that features her wearing sunglasses and a cheerful bandana, while cuddling her lads Bobby, 5, and Freddy, 4.
The Brit reality TV star was said to have been holding on to the memory, along with other pictures, to “feel close” to the boys, remembering her final holiday in the Atlantic in January.
London, March 19: British celebrity magazine OK! is facing flak for publishing tribute edition to Jade Goody, even though the reality TV star has not yet lost her life to cancer.
The latest issue of the magazine hit the stands with its front cover carrying expressions "In Loving Memory" and "Jade Goody 1981-2009".
It also featured her "final words" while the brave 27-year-old continues her battle with cervical cancer.
London, March 18 : Jade Goody's final months have found their way in a new book titled `Forever in My Heart'.
Publishers HarperCollins dubbed the diary as a "modern day parable", and said that the Brit reality TV star had led the book to be a "love letter" to her sons, Bobby, 5, and Freddy, 4.
"This is Jade in her own words," the Telegraph quoted Belinda Budge, the managing director of HarperNon-Fiction, as saying.
