Washington, July 26 : President George W Bush and Senator John McCain have long been in agreement on major elements of US foreign policy, but now the Bush Administration’s agreement to consider a “time horizon” for troop withdrawals from Iraq has led to divergent views, at least in the public.
The divisions within the Republican foreign policy establishment continue at a time when Obama is trying to establish his own international credentials.

Bush on Friday said in a speech devoted to his administration’s efforts to advance freedom in the world, “We’ve seen strides toward democracy taken by nations such as Kuwait and Liberia, Mauritania and Morocco, and Pakistan.”

Washington - US President George W Bush on Friday widened sanctions against Zimbabwean officials for using violence and intimidation to manipulate elections in the troubled country.
The sanctions freeze the assets in the United States of senior Zimbabwean officials designated by the US government as supporters of the violence by President Robert Mugabe's regime against the opposition ahead of the June 27 presidential election.
"Today I have signed a new executive order that expands our sanctions against the illegitimate government of Zimbabwe," Bush said in a statement.
New Delhi, July 25 : US President George W Bush had a telephonic talk with Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh last night, and expressed a desire to quickly move forward on Indo-US nuclear deal. Manmohan is also learnt to have responded with the same wish.
In a statement, US National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe said, "Both leaders expressed their desire to see the US-India civil nuclear issue move forward as expeditiously as possible."
