Sebi chief CB Bhave asked the stock markets to resume trading on Friday at regular time.
“We have asked the exchanges to be ready to start trading. We have kept our options open, we will take a final call later. No time has been fixed for the decision,” he added.
Mr. Bhave also said that the market regulator (SEBI) is monitoring the situation closely.
The NCDEX would also open today for trading.
The forex, money, bond and commodity exchanges have opened already.
MCX Stock Exchange (MCX–SX) started Currency Futures on Monday in Mumbai. It is launched by the chairman of the Security and Exchange Board of India, C B Bhave in a function held in Mumbai.
SEBI chairman, CB Bhave said that the market players, operators and investors should contribute to increase the volume of currency trading in the country. The function is attended by many leaders of from banks, corporate, and from other financial institutions.
New Delhi, Sept 30 : SEBI Chairman C. B. Bhave today said that SEBI is closely monitoring markets and has verified with stock exchanges that there are no settlement issues.
"Yesterday''s settlement went through smoothly. It is expected that the settlement tomorrow also will be smooth. The clearing and settlement mechanism of the stock exchanges is a time tested mechanism, which has been tested in times of great volatility," Bhave said.
