"When someone or something excites the American public, you immediately see a surge of related listings pop up on eBay," Karen Bard, eBay''s pop culture expert said.
Chicago, Dec. 10 : Former US Vice-President Al Gore has ruled himself out of an environment-related job under the Barack Obama administration.
Gore and Obama met in Chicago yesterday and reportedly discussed ways in which the next administration''s environmental policies could be used to create jobs in a crippled US economy.
According to The Independent, there were denials all round that Gore had discussed a job in the new administration.
Democratic officials say Obama is not looking to tap Gore for a cabinet-level post. Nor is Gore interested in such a position.
"Vice-President Gore feels now that his calling really is to educate Americans about the climate crisis," said his spokeswoman Kalee Kreider.
Washington, Dec. 10: About 75 percent of Americans are optimistic about Barack Obama''s presidency despite a grim economic landscape, new CBS News poll has found.
That''s the highest level of optimism that any incoming president has garnered in the past thirty years.
Seventy percent were optimistic when Bill Clinton took office in 1993, the second highest level, while 64 percent were optimistic when George W. Bush took office in 2001, the lowest level.

"I''ve heard a lot of puffed-up rhetoric about how this is going to change the face of politics and how it''s going to be FDR''s fireside chats. The data doesn''t back it up," said David Burch, marketing manager for TubeMogul, which tracks YouTube video views.
Chicago, Dec. 9 : US President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden will meet former Vice-President Al Gore at their Chicago transition headquarters on Tuesday to discuss energy and climate change and "how policies in this area can stimulate the economy and create jobs."
According to the Washington Times, the meeting is private, but the transition team will allow a small group of reporters and photographers to be in the room briefly before the meeting begins.
