Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, on Saturday, was taken to AIIMS for a routine health check up.

The 84-year-old Vajpayee has been admitted to AIIMS nearly three weeks after getting discharged from the hospital.

Dr. D K Sharma, Medical Superintendent AIIMS, said, “He will stay in the hospital for two days during which these follow-up tests will be conducted for him.”

The senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was admitted to AIIMS Feb 3 following complaints of a chest infection.

New Delhi, Mar 21 : Former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on Saturday underwent a regular medical check-up at the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) here.

Vajpayee was admitted on Friday evening, three weeks after he was discharged from the same hospital. He will be discharged on Sunday.

According to hospital officials, the BJP leader has been admitted in the hospital for routine follow up and investigations.

New Delhi, Feb 23 : Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who is undergoing treatment for a chest infection at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), is reported to be showing signs of steady improvement.

"Today someone read out the newspaper to him. It is a daily practice. He watches TV and also spends time listening to good classical and old film music," Dr Sampath Kumar, Chief of Cardio Thoracic Vascular Sciences Department at AIIMS, said on Monday.

"Once we are satisfied about his recovery, we will discharge him, Kumar added.

New Delhi, Feb. 19 : Doctors attending to former prime minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader, Atal Bihari Vajpyaee, at the All India Medical Institute of Sciences (AIIMS), stated improvement in his health condition on Thursday.

A medical bulletin issued by the hospital stated on Thursday that his vital parameters are normal and his condition is improving.

"He is in the ICU and his condition is stable. His chest infection has subsided," said Dr. Sampath Kumar, chief cardio-thoracic and vascular surgeon at AIIMS, told a news agency.

A medical bulletin issued by the hospital said Vajpayee is in the ICU and his condition is stable. His chest infection has subsided.

Vajpayee''s vital parameters are normal, the bulletin said.

His ventilator support, put since February 6, has been removed, and he is breathing on his own.
