People all across US contribute over $20,000 for injured Arizona dog

A female shepherd mix was found hanging from a tree in Tucson with a rope strapped around her mouth more than a week ago.

The dog named Sunny was brought to the Pima Animal Care Center and is fortunately showing progress in her conditions.

José Ocaño, Director of shelter operations for the Pima Animal Care Center, said Sunny is now being taken care of by a foster parent.

Ocaño added, "She's getting her spirit back. Even the look in the eye looks more trusting and hopeful, which is a testament to how resilient animals are".

The study has captured the attention of many all across the nation and even abroad. People from all over the world have poured in a lot of cash for the recovery of the canine. Till now more than $20,000 has poured for the Arizona dog.

Sunny's medical bills cost about $2,500, and the rest of the money raised will benefit other animals at the county shelter, which has about 650 dogs and 300 cats on a daily basis.
