PCB appoints Abdul as team manger
The Pakistan Cricket Board has today named former player Abdul Raqeeb as new cricket team manager for the ODI and T20 matches series against New Zealand to be played from 3rd November.
Abdul will replace Yawar Saeed who refused to continue his tenure with the PCB due to dispute with the Pakistan skipper Younis Khan during recently concluded Champions Trophy in South Africa. Former Pakistan seamer Aaqib Javed has replaced Shafqat Rana as new assistant manager.
However, PCB Chairman Ejaz Butt said that Saeed had informed them in advance about his resignation before start of the Champions Trophy in South Africa and there are no differences between Younis and him.
Abdul, former first class left-arm spinner who toured India in 1979 without playing in any match, said that he will work as an administrator in the team and his top priority will be to maintain discipline in the team.
Pakistan will play three ODI matches on November 3, 6 and 9 in Abu Dhabi followed by two T20 matches in Dubai on November 12 and 13 against New Zealand.
