Paul McCartney to ‘receive MTV’s ‘Ultimate Legend Award’ from Bono’
London, Nov 6: Sir Paul McCartney will be conferred with the title of ‘Ultimate Legend’ at tonight’s MTV Awards, it has emerged.
And U2's lead singer Bono has flown down to Liverpool to present the award to the ex-Beatle.
“Channel chiefs have been in a massive quandary as to who to present the award to Liverpool’s most famous son,” the Mirror quoted a source as saying.
“It is a first ever for MTV Europe to create a gong like this. It’s a one-off,” the source added.
“One thing’s for sure, Macca will certainly be bringing his guitar. It will be a flying visit but he’s not likely to come all the way to Liverpool without strumming us a song,” said a show insider.
“Bono and him get on like a house on fire, and their presence will be the talk of the night,” the insider added.
Other stars attending the ceremony include Kid Rock, Pink, and Take That, Beyonce, Kanye West etc. (ANI)
