Panasonic All Set To Relaunch Sanyo Brand In India

PanasonicPanasonic India has decided to relaunch Japanese consumer durable brand 'Sanyo' in the Indian market by April 2011.

At a press meeting, Mr. Manish Sharma, director (marketing) of Panasonic India stated, "We want to market Sanyo brand in tier II and tier III cities in the country while Panasonic will penetrate the metro and other big cities."

Panasonic is all ready to project Sanyo as a mass market brand in India.

As per reports, Panasonic had purchased the Sanyo brand for around $9 billion.

The company would roll out LCD, sound system, refrigerators and washing machines under the brand 'Sanyo'.

While talking on the company's biz in the Indian market, Mr. Sharma stated that the company is anticipating a turnover of $2 billion from its Indian operations by the next two years.

Moreover, the company is also projecting Rs 3,200 crore proceeds in 2010 as a group in India.

The consumer durable sector accounts for 65% of the company's turnover in the Indian market.

The company has just established a market research laboratory in India that will carry out lifestyle analysis of small-town users for such type of products.
