Wagah, Nov. 28 : In a show of camaraderie, Indian and Pakistani border guards deputed at the Wagah border checkpost, exchanged sweets and greeted each other on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Zuha or, Bakr-id on Saturday.

The festival has tradition of sacrificing ''Bakr'' or Bakr, and is the most important Muslim festival.

Pakistan Rangers on the Pakistani side offered sweets to the officials of the Border security Force (BSF) here.

Brigadier Kamran from Pakistan Rangers led the Pakistan delegation whereas H. S. Dillon, Commandant, Border Security Force, welcomed the Pak delegation at zero line from the Indian side. Both greeted each other on the occasion.

Later, talking to media, Brigadier Kamran said that through the token of sweets Pakistan would like to send the message of for peace in the region.

H. S. Dillon appreciated the gesture.

The exchange of sweets on the occasion of Eid-ul-Zua, appeared a warm gesture even as ties between the two countries are strained following the 26/11 Mumbai attacks by terrorists from Pakistan. (ANI)
