Pakistan requests AHF for postponement of Asian Champions Trophy
There have been clouds of uncertainty on the first edition of the hockey Asian Champions Trophy as Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has asked Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) to postpone the tournament due to packed International schedule and security concerns in their country.
Asian Champions Trophy, which was scheduled to begin in September in Lahore this year, was granted to Pakistan by AHF in a meeting in Kuala Lumpur last year and now PHF wants to postpone this tournament.
A senior official of PHF said that they have requested AHF to postpone the tournament due to two reasons, which have been the packed schedule of the Pakistan team in the next few months and bad security situation in their country.
This decision of PHF has came at a time when all the foreign teams were looking reluctant to play in Pakistan due to security concerns after the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore earlier this year.
