The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited, ONGC has gained in the stock markets on back of high volumes and renewed buying interest at lower levels in the stock. At 11:49 am, its share quoted at Rs 808.90, with an increase Rs 26.20 or 3.35% over close of Friday.

ONGC reached an intraday high of Rs 819.80 and low of Rs 802.

It is dealing with volumes of 54,258 shares. On Friday, the ONGC share closed down at 4.41% or Rs 36.10 at Rs 782.70. Many stocks reached fair valuations after the recent down trend in the market. Operators are suggesting that some strong stocks can be bought at these levels for short term gains of nearly 10 - 12 %.

ONGC is an Indian public sector petroleum company, and is a Fortune Global 500 company, contributes 77% of India’s crude oil production and 81% of India’s natural gas production. It is also the highest profit making corporation in India.
