One killed, seven injured in Iraq attacks

IraqBaghdad  - One policemen was killed and seven Iraqi's were injured in attacks across the country on Wednesday, local media reported.

The policeman was killed one of his colleagues injured when a roadside bomb exploded in the northern city of Mosul, police told Baghdad's Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

The blast took place in the Rajim Hadid area of western Mosul, according to the report.

Some 400 kilometres to the south, in the Baghdad suburb of Abu Ghraib, three civilians were injured in a bomb attack in which an army patrol appeared to be the target, police said.

Earlier, three Iraqi army officers were injured in an attack, in al-Haswa, near the predominantly Sunni city of Falluja, west of Baghdad.  dpa
