Obesity Is A Curse On A Woman’s Life – A Study
A survey conducted by the leading journal 'Preventive Medicine' paints a grim picture for the ‘obese’ women. The survey suggests that obesity is a curse on a woman's life.
According to researchers at the University of Connecticut, obese women are more likely to be fired from their job or get in trouble with the police than thin ones.
It is also stated that they are more likely to be criminals themselves.
Most disturbingly, the survey predicts that the overweight women also suffer the most stress as compared to obese men.
Nancy Petry, who is leading the research, said, “Stress can lead to obesity. But the opposite is also true with the seriously overweight suffering the most stress by contributing to poor health or social factors like workplace discrimination.”
The researchers have based their findings on an analysis of health records of over 40,000 adults in America.
The research further added that the overweight women were more likely to experience more "stressful life events". They also were more likely to be sacked or made redundant, suffer financial troubles and face the death of a friend or relative.
However, on the up side, the study predicts also found that the overweight women were also least likely to break up with a longterm partner or get a divorce.
