After winning the accolade for the best hotel across the globe from Travel and Leisure magazine, Oberoi Hotels and Resorts is now trailing full speed with its hands on the plans for doubling the group's room capacity by approx 6,000 in the coming next five years.

According to Mr. P.R.S. Oberoi, the Chairman, EIH Ltd, at a press conference expressed that the Oberoi in Gurgaon shall open shortly this year or may be by early next year. This shall entail have 200 rooms capacity.

The Oberoi in Dubai shall also throng its arms somewhere around the same time. Also the group has decided to come up with two more hotels as the feather in their hat within the next 18 months, in Hyderabad.

The two land bases in Hyderabad shall be urbanized with partner Jubilee Hotels and Oberoi Group's share of investment that shall be Rs 44 crore. The total expense of the project shall approximate around Rs 650 crore.

Oberoi Hotels and Resorts are also developing a fresh new hotel in Marrakesh, Morocco entailing a total expenditure of Rs 300 crore from which the group's investment shall be on Rs 24 crore.

Other projects in the kitty of Oberoi group entails a property coming under the Trident brand in Dehradun and another resort hotel rolling out near Chandigarh. Mr Oberoi voiced that the group may also entail a palace in Madhya Pradesh in its wish list which it wants to craft but due to the lack of availability of water in that area the work is getting hindered.
