Obama to meet with Gore to discuss climate changeWashington - President-elect Barack Obama will meet with former vice president Al Gore in Chicago on Wednesday to discuss global warming, Obama's transition office said in a statement.

The two men, along with vice president-elect Joe Biden will "discuss energy and climate change and how policies in this area can stimulate the economy and create jobs," spokesman Nick Shapiro said.

Gore served as vice president under Bill Clinton and narrowly lost his White House bid to President George W Bush in the controversial 2000 election.

Since losing, Gore has championed effort to combat global warming. Gore won an Academy Award in 2006 for his documentary about climate change called An Inconvenient Truth. He won the Nobel Peace Prize the next year. (dpa)
