Novell Unveils Latest OS Version ‘OpenSUSE 10.3’ In India

OpenSUSE 10.3Bangalore: Novell India has rolled out the newest edition of PC operating system ‘OpenSUSE 10.3’.

openSUSE 10.3 consists of a flexible Linux-Windows dual-boot
arrangement, better user interface, dual-boot, compatibility of
OpenOffice.org office suite with MS Office and better multimedia back
up.

Naresh Shah, managing director of Novell’s India Development Centre
said, “The openSUSE community has created a new version of openSUSE for
a wide range of computer users. OpenSUSE 10.3 provides a stable and
state-of-the-art operating system based on Linux kernel 2.6.22, and it
contains a large variety of the latest open source applications for
desktops, servers and application development.”

The other attachments to openSUSE 10.3 comprise the most recent KDE
and GNOME desktop environments, together with a KDE 4 preview. On the
other hand, OpenOffice.org 2.3 attached to it makes file sharing with
MS Office users easy.

AppArmor defends the OS and other applications from bugs and
malevolent applications. The latest PS OS Version 10.3 also enjoys MP3
support for Banshee and Amarok, the default media players.

It also offers the latest open source applications to arrange a home
network and execute a Web server along with virtualisation software
including Xen 3.1 and VirtualBox 1.5. The latest PC operating system
OpenSUSE is formed by the openSUSE project that has over 54,000
registered members.

Presently, OpenSUSE 10.3 is freely available at www.opensuse.org, and its retail version is available on www.shopnovell.com plus in select retail locations.
