Nokia Siemens to carry out IInd phase transmission for Tata Teleservices
Tata Teleservices Limited has contracted with Nokia Siemens Networks to implement part of its next phase transmission network, with a view to prepare in advance for the expected growth in data traffic and to enhance the IP capabilities of its existing mobile backhaul network.
The Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) is a leading dual-technology telecom service operator with pan-India presence, while, Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) is a leading global enabler of telecommunications services.
According to the contract signed between the two companies, NSN will be supplying three leading mobile backhaul platforms in order to provide speedy wireless connections from base stations to the core of the Tata Teleservices network.
These connections include FlexiHybrid microwave radio, FlexiMetro radio for high capacity and FlexiHopper, which is a cost-optimized and low-capacity microwave radio for connecting the base stations.
In addition to the above services, NSN will also use its NetAct Operations Support Systems platform for the efficient monitoring, management and optimization of the network, with a view to ensure high-quality end-user services, and its NetViewer suite will help in managing the microwave radio networks.
The president and chief technology officer of Tata Teleservices Limited, Mr. A G Rao has informed that the subscribers have been demanding for the new range of the services, and for providing the same, the company has been looking for a service partner in order to strengthen the existing transport network to support both voice and data in an efficient manner.
In a release, the company has informed that under the full turkey solution, NSN will provide an array of the services like project management, network planning, installation and commissioning.
