Nokia files a suit for patent violation against Apple
A lawsuit against Apple has been filed by Nokia with the Federal District Court in the Western District of Wisconsin. It claims of infringing five technology patents in iPad 3G and the iPhone.
According to Nokia's statement, "Patent is for an enhanced speech and data transmission, using positioning data in applications and innovations in antenna configurations that improve performance and save space, allowing smaller and more compact devices".
The concerned spokesperson who is also the head of Nokia's patent department, Paul Melin, said Nokia needs to take care of the pioneering development of its key technologies and at the same time this move has been taken to curb all the unlawful usage of Nokia's innovation.
Nokia also claimed that it has put in more than 40 billion Euros over the past 20 years to amass an aggregate of 11,000 patents.
Meanwhile, Apple was unavailable for any comments.
