India might develop third Antarctic station in 2012

Kapil-SibalIndia's third permanent station in Antarctica, "Bharati", would soon be developed and fully functionally running accommodating 70 scientists and claimed that the back satellite pictures on ocean conditions back home in real time.

A shipment carrying heavy apparatus in the Antarctica will be constructed at a cost of Rs 200 crore, "Bharati" and at the same time with an accompanying earth station to acquire satellite images and transmitting them back to India in actual time. It is further claimed that the Larsemann Hills on the eastern coast of Antarctica.

BlackBerry in no haste to release the latest OS

Lazaridis further stated that Research In Motion is keeping its base on future. He stated that due to battery life and cost issues, it will be considered optimum for RIM to wait for appropriate hardware before it releases BlackBerry's with multi core processors.

Tata Communications to acquire US-based BitGravity

Tata-CommunicationsIn a press conference today one of India's major communication companies, Tata Communications, conveyed that it has agreed to acquire BitGravity which is a company that provides network for content delivery over the Internet.

The deal happened at an undisclosed price and other details of the entire deal also remained undisclosed. The transaction when completed will be giving, Tata Communication (Netherlands) a 100 percent ownership of BitGravity.

The new company will be operating as a wholly-owned subsidiary of, Tata Communications.

Bankers express concerns over liquidity

rbiThere certainly seems to be a big hurdle in the growth story of India, with things just not going right at the moment. On one hand there are inflation worries haunting the Finance minister, while on the other hand the liquidity crisis is also worrying. Apart from all these, the constant pressures of sustaining the economic growth also hover.

The bankers in India for now are worried because of the lack in pace of the deposit growth, and are pretty concerned over the steep rate increase on credit growth.
