Berlin (dpa) - Germany's second biggest airline, Air Berlin, is to launch its first flight to Venice in summer 2009.

From May 1, the airline will fly to Venice from Dusseldorf from
Monday to Saturday, according to the carrier's spokesperson in Berlin.

The decision means Venice is the eight Italian destination in Air Berlin's flight plan. (dpa)
