Greg Chappell Changes Side
At the Sawai Man Singh Stadium on Tuesday, there was a difference in the regular hustle bustle.
The focus was on Greg Chappell wearing the Australian colours. The Australian team is in Jaipur for a weeklong conditioning camp. Thereafter the team moves to Hyderabad for a 4-day practice match from Oct 2, followed by Test Matches at Bangalore,,Mohali, New Delhi and Nagpur.
The Australian side minus the strong bowling department and with only four players who have played on Indian soil before, is still oozing confidence. Has the Presence of Guru Greg got anything to do with it? To quote Brett Lee "We will definitely be picking his brains for every little bit of knowledge and experience he's gained. Being the former Indian coach is one of the reason he is here, but he is also a great former Australian player and batsman. He will be a key member of our team.
On India, they said the controversy is behind us. we have turned a new page in our book. He added further, that the younger guys have to start somewhere and what better stage than to play here in India under such amicable conditions -the crowd, the enthusiasm and the country. Let us hope we Indians live up to our reputation.
