The Gulshan Kumar murder case, which has been in court from a long time, took a new turn on Monday when the prosecution submitted the list of 205 names as witnesses to the case, which would be examined during the trial.

This list includes many well known names from the industry.

Actors like Sharukh Khan, Jackie Shroff, Salman Khan, Aditya Pancholi, Chunky Pandey, Pooja Bhatt and a few others are the ones whom the prosecution is looking forward to examine. Names of many well known singers, directors and producers are also added by the special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam in the list. Although, it is true that most of the names mentioned have already been examined earlier by the prosecution.

The session court acquitted 18 of 19 accused in April 2002, sentencing sharpshooter Rauf Merchant to life time imprisonment. After the arrest of Abdul Qayyum Shaikh, who was involved in 1993 serial bomb blasts and was deported from Dubai in 2007, the case was re-opened as he too was the prime accused in the case.

Mr. Nikam reported, “Now the prosecution wants to once again look into the matter with fresh hope.” The court which has adjourned the case till August 25 has still to decide that whether it will go ahead and examine the witnesses once again or will it recall the witnesses who already have been deposed.
