Crime Branch arrests Gurgaon IT pro for posting obscene remarks about Sonia Gandhi

Pune: OrkutGoogle's Social Networking website Orkut. com is again in the news as Crime branch has arrested an IT professional from Gurgaon for posting obscene and derogatory remark about Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi. The message was posted in a community group of orkut members named "I hate Sonia Gandhi".

Amol Bhokare, a Congress activist from Pune, saw the message on the website and launched a complaint at the Deccan Gymkhana police station. Krishnakumar Vaid (22), was working with PC Solutions, a Gurgaon based IT company.

The police team traced the accused after the internet search engine major Google provided the IP address of the person. Viad has been charged with Section 292 of the IPC and Section 67 of the IT Act.

Vaid accepted that he posted the messages. He has been remanded to police custody till May 21.

Orkut is the most popular social networking website in India followed by ibibo. com (privately owned with overseas company share), bigadda. com (owned by Reliance Group) and Sulekha. com (privately owned).
