Photographer captures Image of Meteor over Loch Ness

Scotland-based tour guide John Alasdair Macdonald captured a stunning image of a meteor in the sky over Loch Ness, a deep and freshwater loch in the Scottish Highlands. According to Macdonald, it was a beautiful night when he decided to go outside and capture some stunning images of stars. He said that he went for a walk at about 9pm when he captured the rare sight.

After capturing stunning picture, Macdonald posted it on his company’s Facebook page. Macdonald also runs a tour company ‘The Hebridean Explorer’. While talking to BBC, Macdonald said that the photograph went viral after he posted it on the page. According to him, the photograph was a total fluke. He also said that it was a co-incidence and he knew that he will never capture such kinds of images.

Macdonald told the Scotland edition of UK newspaper The Herald, “I am not a photographer really. I just take some now and again to put on Facebook. I thought I would nip up the loch and take some photos using my little compact camera which I just point and shoot”.

According to the reports, the photograph was captured by Macdonald on Sunday night during a meteor shower over Scotland. The Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team said that it received a number of phone calls that night from concerned people who feared that the flashes of light were distress flares.

After seeing photograph posted by Macdonald, people started debating it. Some people were surprised to see the image while some of them were saying that the photograph was result of Photoshop. But, at that night, a number of sky-watchers reported seeing fireballs across Scotland and in other parts of Europe. Some people have also captured video shot of fireballs.
