Mall of America to boost security at malls
In the aftermath of the attack on a shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya, the Mall of America has decided to boost security at its malls in the US.
Mall officials at the Bloomington mall said that some of the security measure would be noticeable while others won't be visible. Experts have said that several millions of people visit the company's 500 stores each year. The company said that the safety of its guests, tenants and employees is a top priority for the company.
The shopping mall in the Kenyan capital was allegedly attacked by Somali militant group al-Shabab. The state of Minnesota is home to the largest Somali community in the US and as many as 22 men have travelled to the African nation from the US to join al-Shabab and the FBI is conducting an investigation into the group.
FBI spokesman Kyle Loven has said that there are no reports of an American being involved in the attack that claimed the lives of 61 civilians in Kenya. Several malls around the world have taken steps to boost security in the aftermath of the attack including those in the US.
