The brother of the man who died just outside A&E of the Walsall Manor Hospital, has prompted a hospital investigation.

The Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust has confirmed that it has suspended seven hospital workers besides four ambulance staff after an incident in which a patient died outside the A&E on 23 June. Carl Cope was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital with chest pains.

The suspension comes on claims that they did not rush the man, who collapsed outside the A&E. According to reports, a man admitted with chest pains collapsed outside the unit while he went out to get some fresh air.

The incidence is being investigated by the NHS Trust and the ambulance service. The trust has said that seven workers including nurses and porters have been suspended following the investigations over the incident.

Jayne Tunstall, chief operating officer at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust said, "I can confirm that an incident happened on the Walsall Manor Hospital site, on Saturday, June 23, in which a patient died. A full investigation has been launched by the trust and is currently ongoing, and a number of staff have been suspended as part of this investigation."

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman has confirmed that the incident occurred on the Walsall Manor Hospital site on 23 June. The spokesman also said that four members have been suspended by the trust that will complete its investigations in the next two weeks.
