Satyam To Establish New Campus In Australia
In order to deepen its presence in Australia, Satyam Computer Services Ltd is ready to set up a new campus at the Geelong Technology Precint, Victoria.
The centre would accommodate over 2000 employees by 2013. The recent plan highlights Satyam’s promise to Australia and raising the local ICT talent in Geelong and surrounding regions.
Rama Raju, Satyam’s co-founder and managing director, said, “Satyam is well established in Australia and Monday's announcement reinforces our ongoing commitment to the local ICT market.”
“The Geelong campus is an important component of our long-term initiative to built new centers of excellence, in strategic locations, around the globe,” Mr. Raju added.
The Software major said that its new 25-acre centre would have a software development centre along with R&D and training facilities.
Premier of Victoria John Brumby said, “Economic modelling estimates that the Satyam Technology and Learning Center will significantly boost Victoria's economy.”
Presently, Satyam Australia has major presence in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra with a diverse staff of more than 1,400 associates serving Australia.
Satyam will engage in various collaborative actions with Deakin, including staff exchange, a work integrated learning programme for students, a graduate employment programme and joint research.
