Apple releases software update to fix battery issue
Technology giant, Apple has released a software update to address the problems with the battery life of the iPhone 4S smartphone.
The update, iOS 5.0.1 for its latest mobile operating system will also bring multi-tasking gestures to all the versions of the iPad tablet. The update also patches a security loophole that would have been exploited to dupe users to install a malware onto their iPhones and iPads through Apple’s App Store.
The problem was discovered by several users earlier but was not given attention by the company surrounded by the buzz of its launch. Apple users have flooded forums and online blogs with complaints about the issue linked to the battery.
Apple can responded by saying that it will work to solve the problem, which caused the device to overhead and drained battery in shorter time than expected. Apple has nowissued the software fix to the issue.
The technology giant was working on the software update to remove the battery draining bug that affects users. An Apple spokesperson had earlier indicated that the fix will be released this week.
“A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices,” Apple wrote. “We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life, and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks.”
