OnLive has entered into an agreement with telecom major, BT to launch its cloud-based gaming service in the UK market.

The gaming service, which is scheduled to be launched on September 22 this year, offers instant access to more than 100 games via iPad, PC or internet TV and Android-powered devices. The service has been available in the US for sometime and allows users to enjoy gaming without the need of consoles.

The service makes use of the internet to offer gaming experience to its users who stream the data over a high speed internet connection. The user only needs a high speed connection and a cloud gaming adapter to connect to a remote server, hosted on the cloud, which carries out the processing.

Steve Perlman, chief executive of OnLive, described the service as “high performance gaming as accessible as streaming video.”
