Technology giant, Apple has released the third built of Mac OS X 10.6.8 for developers packed in a 1GB download termed 10K531.

According to a report by MacStories, the new version has Airport, Graphics Drivers, Mac App Store, Networking, QuickTime and VPN as its focus areas just like the earlier built. Apple releases a new build for developers every week stating two weeks ago.

It is not known if the new version of the platform will have a fix for the MAC Defender malware. Users have been complaining on a number of threads on Apple forums about infections that caused their Macs to act strangely. The malware appears as legitimate security software for the OS X platform to the system.

The hackers tricked Mac users by displaying pictures showing an antivirus scan taking place on their machines. The images then tell users that their system is infected by a serious malware and urges them to download and install the antivirus package. Users who download the ‘anti-virus program’ are then infected by the malware.

The Mac OS X Snow Leopard version was released in March with improvements to the reliability of Back to My Mac, resolve issues when transferring files to SMB Windows Files Sharing servers, and address Mac App Store bugs.
