The long-awaited iPad is available now in Bangalore without service provider confinement

iPadThe year-long wait for your iPad is over; Apple now launches iPad in India. As opposed to its launch in other countries, the 3G versions now comes with a no restriction to a single service provider exclusively in the Indian market.

The good news is that all the versions will be available unlocked enabling your iPad to work with the micro SIM provided by any cellular service providers. This additional expedience to the Indian market offered by Apple has been a positive tossup for the company.

On Friday, Apple fandom was found to be flocking the iStores in Bangalore to get hold of the latest tablet gizmo. Major contenders of Apple, in India, like Samsung Galaxy Tab have diluted the price by almost 25% of its original price, considering the competitive price offered from Apple. Samsung is the first company to respond with cutting down the price range of its tabs in India.

However critics believe that the launch of iPad is not the sole reason for slashing prices and the major reason is the amplitude of local mobile phone brands lining up the competition in the country’s cellular market at relatively lower price range.

With Nokia’s share falling from 70%, as evidenced in 2006, to 31%-50% now local brands like Karbonn, Lava, Maxx, and Micromax have grabbed the major share in the Indian market. The availability of accessing data via IDC or Gfk Nielsen is the other reason why the local brands have picked up well in a short span of time. Other Android Operating System-based gadgets include the Olive pad and the much- awaited BlackBerry playbook which is expected to be launched this year.
