Delhi High Court asks Petroleum Ministry, IOC to submit status report on LPG black marketing

New Delhi, Mar 24 :Indian Oil Corporation The Delhi High Court today ordered the Petroleum Ministry and Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) to submit status report on a petition alleging that the oil majors have failed to take action against black marketing of LPG cylinders.

In a writ petition filed by an NGO, the Society for Voice of Human Rights and Justices (SVHRJ) contended that distributors of LPG were not supplying cylinders to genuine consumer, but they were freely available in the black market.

Despite repeated complaints from the general public, the distributors have failed to take action against the black marketeers, it claimed.

“Repeated representations to the concerned officials of Bharat Gas and Indane Gas companies did not result in any respite,” the petitioner Raj Kumar Kaushik, SVHRJ President alleged.

The next hearing on the matter has been fixed for July 19. (ANI)
