Jet Airways sees highest air trafficJet Airways was the carrier that showed the highest rate of air traffic during the period of January-August. The total air traffic in terms of passengers went up by 19.3 per cent to 33.9 million during the period.

The conclusion was drawn from the government data. As per it, Jet Airways and its budget airlines, JetLite had a total market share of 27 per cent followed by Kingfisher Airlines which commended 20 per cent share. Third on the rank was Air India was 18.3 per cent and SpiceJet owned a share of 12.6 per cent during the period.

Meanwhile, it also came out that the seat factor, one of the important parameters, went down for Jet as well as SpiceJet. In August, Jet recorded a seat factor of 70.4 per cent which was lesser than 73.8 per cent that was recorded in July. SpiceJet's seat factor went down from 76.8 per cent to 70.3 per cent.

On the other hand, Kingfisher saw seat factor at 80.9 per cent against 79.3 per cent during last month.

Data shows that the domestic traffic was up 19 per cent to end at 339.09 lakh.
