Wockhardt’s first quarter net loss narrows to Rs 116 crore

WockhardtIndia's leading drug-maker Wockhardt has reported its financial results for first quarter of the fiscal year 2010-11. The company has informed that, it has managed to narrow its loss figures in this reviewed quarter as compared to last year report.

The net loss of the firm was reported to be Rs 116.28 crore for the first quarter of the current financial year. For the same period of time, the net loss was Rs 189.87 crore in the previous year. Hence the company has managed to reduce the loss figure to 38.75 % in the current year against last year.

Wockhardt has produced this fact to the Bombay Stock Exchange in a filing. There has been a decline in the net sales as well. The Mumbai based company has recorded net sales of Rs 921.64 crore in Q1 of 2010-11 which was reported to be Rs 954.15 crore for its year ago like period.

However, the sales from its US division have gone up by 17% in the reviewed quarter over its corresponding period of 2009.
