Carpet exports grow up by 22% to $3.60 millionCarpet export of the country has grown up by 22% in the month of June. It has touched to $3.60 million which is about 17 crore. According to the officials, due to good orders from the US and European market the export of India has gone up significantly.

They have also added that the carpet export of the country is getting better year-on-year.

The report also suggests that, the export figure of the month of June in the year 2009 has been recorded $2.94 million which is about Rs 14 crore and it is expected that, the export of the commodity will go up in the coming months and fiscals.

Chairman of the Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC), Mr. O P Garg has informed that, they are getting good orders from the US market and European market. Middle East and Latin America are also providing good number of orders.

So as per Mr. Garg, CEPC is receiving orders from new and existing markets and anticipating the same in the coming years as well. It is expected to grow up by 25% to$650 million in the current fiscal year.
